My Story
Maya Nylund ‘24 is an Art History and English double major with a Film & Media Studies minor at Lafayette College. When she is not thinking about how Meret Oppenheim took her tea, she writes. Her work has appeared on The Huffington Post, The New York Times online, and No Prizes #5 literary magazine. She is a recipient of Lafayette’s Jean Corrie Poetry Prize, The Gilbert Prize for excellence in English, and the Eugene P. Chase Beta Kappa Prize for demonstrated scholarship. As modes of artistic consumption become increasingly less tactile post-COVID and in the digital age, she is interested in the potential of virtual reality to restore a sense of scale, movement, and palpability to the viewer’s digitized experience of art.
